I’ve been teaching the Instant Stress Reducing Maneuver (ISRM) since 2001 when I first read Dr. Maxie Maultsby, Jr.’s book Coping Better… Anytime, Anywhere: The Handbook of Rational Self-Counseling. It has helped me prepare for difficult conversations, facilitate high-stakes meetings, worry less when anxiety creeps in, and go back to sleep in the middle of the night.
If you aspire to be a better leader and communicator, you will need to navigate conflict, manage your frustration with people, and deliver difficult feedback with thoughtful candor. If you are trying to improve your sleep habits, worry less, exercise more, and be a healthier eater, you need a tool to help you do what you know your body needs. The ISRM can make all these goals easier to achieve. I hope this short video will help you to give yourself the gift of reducing stress and feeling better faster.
